Many of us are increasingly feeling the pinch as the credit crunch deepens with lifestyle changes becoming a necessity.

But its no longer just a case of having one fewer holiday a year: new research suggests one in 10 couples are postponing marriage, while bargain shoppers have given a boost to low-cost stores such as Primark and Aldi.
Avoiding large expenses such as a wedding is an obvious way to keep spending down. But there are less drastic, yet equally effective ways to reduce outgoings and offset the credit pinch.
A family with a typical financial portfolio has the potential to save nearly £4,000 a year simply by moving away from uncompetitive products, Moss says.
